Descendants of Wilhelm Orsetti. The Orsetti family visited the Museum on May 21st. The descendants of Wilhelm Orsetti (1597-1659), a prominent merchant and banker from Lukka who settled in Poland and did business in Cracow, Lviv, and Jarosław, live in Poland and France. Orsetti sold silk, Italian cloth, and iron goods at the Great Fair in Jarosław. The wealthy merchant was given the status of Polish noble for granting a loan to King Jan Kazimierz. He renovated and rebuilt in a Renaissance style the House that still bears his name.
