The art collection includes portraits of the town owners and townsmen, a unique coffin portrait of Jarosław's Commune Head Jan Meltant, a gothic sculpture of Madonna and Child, and works by Jarosławian artists such as Józef and Stefania Kaniakowie, Stanisław Kopystyński, Zygmunt Milli, and Józef Hel, which date back to the beginnings of the Orsetti House Museum at the turn of the 20th century. The Museum also owns several hundred works of Polish and foreign painters dating back from the 16th to the 20th century. Polish, Italian, and Flemish painting is the most common. There are also items representing Orthodox art, works by contemporary Jarosławian artists, and a collection of handcrafted items, including two valuable Jarosławian Zupans (the traditional dress of Polish noblemen) and belts from the beginning of the 17th century. Most of the glass, china, faience, and silver products are from the first half of the 19th century. Also of special value to the Museum are preserved funeral wreaths from the Czartoryski family crypt. |
